More yellow than the traditional Blonde finish, the black guard Tele’s of the early 50’s had a finish that has become known Butterscotch Blonde.
This is a pigmented tinted lacquer which is considered semi-opaque. Wood grain should still be visible once a few light coats are applied, however it will begin to opaque if more color is applied.
Should be clear coated prior to wet sanding and polish.
