3 Tone Sunburst

The Fender Sunburst was originally unveiled in 1954 with the introduction of the Stratocaster.
Transparent Yellow was used as the base color, and a dark brown tint, Dark Salem, was used as the edge.
By 1958, the addition of a Transparent Red was added as a middle/third color in the transition, giving the Sunburst a much more dynamic look.
Trans Yellow – Can be used on it’s own as a vibrant toner or as the base color for number of different sunburst options.
Trans Red – Often used as the middle/transition color. Can also be used as an edge when creating a two tone “Sienna Burst”.
Dark Salem – A very Dark Brown color that will opaque if sprayed heavily. Can be used as part of two tone “Tobacco Burst” or three tone Sunburst.
When spraying Bursts with aerosols, we recommend gently heating the cans in a bucket or sink of warm water for 10 minutes. Conical Tips should be used when spraying the perimeter colors.
Should be clear coated prior to wet sanding and polish.
